I still remember the day this sweet baby boy was born. I was sitting on the hospital bed, bleary-eyed in the darkness of the early morning, my sweet baby girl snuggled up on my chest as I patted her back after a nursing session. I opened up Instagram to check in with the outside world, and the first image to greet me in my feed was a beaming mama and daddy with their brand new baby snuggled up on mom’s chest — Ryan, Tuan, and their son! It took me a few moments to realize that it had been posted the previous evening, and then it hit me. My eyes widened, I laughed to myself, and I quickly dashed off a message to her: “Our babies have the same birthday!!!” What in incredible, wonderful coincidence to be able to share such an intimate, life-changing experience with a client!
Two weeks after meeting their baby boy in Ryan’s hospital room, I met up with their sweet family for their precious boy’s newborn lifestyle session! Ryan wanted to make sure that we had plenty of natural light to work with, so she arranged for us to be able to do their session in her parents’ home, which truly felt like I had stepped into a design magazine! And baby boy was such an angel! He was so sweet and calm the entire time, and also so awake and alert. He definitely didn’t want to miss anything! I loved being able to photograph him with some special items, including a blanket and hat Ryan’s Nanie crocheted for him, as well as a nautical-themed quilt that she made!
Ryan and Tuan — Thank you again for allowing me to be a part of this special time for your family! From documenting your maternity session to your son’s newborn photos, it has been a true joy and privilege to watch your family grow! As you navigate this newborn stage, my hope is that you will savor the small moments of joy among all the challenges. 🙂 Your family will always have a special place in my heart since our babies are birthday buddies, and I cannot wait to watch that sweet boy grow up over the years!
